Viki.com English Subtitle Volunteer Editor

In 2014, a friend talked me into watching a few episodes of a Kdrama called Boys Over Flowers. Little did I know that just a couple of episodes of a Kdrama would lead to a hobby I am passionate about, editing subtitles.

As I mowed through Kdramas, my search for more led me to a website called Viki.com where I was ecstatic to discover a volunteer community of people who were subtitling Asian content into English and then into up to 200 languages! I love editing all kinds of content, and subtitles are no exception. Since I joined the Viki Community, I have edited about 300K subtitles and have completed over 200 drama and movie projects. I find it so much fun that I wish I could do it as a job!

San Diego Comic-Con International

I am lucky enough to live in beautiful San Diego, CA—a place I call paradise with cars! Not only is San Diego a lovely and lively place to live, it is also the home of the San Diego Comic-Con, which began with a comic book minicon at the US Grant Hotel in March of 1970, attended by 60-75 people, and has grown to be a major event with an attendance of 135, 000 to 150, 000 people each summer. The convention offers a huge sales floor of vendors, small press, artist alley and more. Plus there are always panels with well-known industry professionals and guest artists, as well as major “Hall H” panels with actors, writers, directors, artists and more! I love to cosplay at Comic-Con and I also serve as a staff volunteer. What a fun way to support my community!
